Description:

OpenSound Control ("OSC") is a protocol for communication among computers, sound synthesizers, and other multimedia devices that is optimized for modern networking technology and has been used in many application areas. It seems that OSC is going be the successor of MIDI.

OSCRuby allows you to control many DJ- and VJ-software tools like Max/MSP Jitter, PD, Open Sound World, SuperCollider, etc...

OSCRuby implements the most important functionalities of the OSC specification as NTP compatible timestamps and nested OSC Messages and Bundles. The UDP based client/server code has been extensively tested with PD, VVVV and Open Sound World. As a next step i intend to build a special OSCRuby and VVVV package to show the possibilities of the Improvisational Design ideas of Suguru Ishizaki.
